Its been so long, much needed update!

Wow, its been months since I update my blog so I figured I'd better get to it! I am proud to announce after all the craziness of this pregnancy, we're in a safe zone with the twins and are currently 28 weeks 2 days pregnant! I have a lot to update on so here it goes.....

My last update was just at a little over 10 weeks, when all the complications began. Well around 13 weeks I had a major bleed, biggest one yet, I rushed in my OB to still find two beautifully beating hearts, my subchorionic hemorrhage grew significantly though and went from just 2cm long to 9cm long, so very scary. I also began seeing a maternal fetal specialist around this time who decided it was time to put me on strict bed rest, so extrememly hard. Our roomate/family friend had to watch Jacob during the day while I stayed in bed except to use the restroom and bathe, my food even had to be brought to me, James got off work early for nearly two months to help with Jacob too. I was on strict bed rest for over 2 months, I thought it would never end and wondered if my babies were going to make it through all this.

We purchased a wheel chair during this time for the times I just had to get out, being cooped up all the time was driving me crazy. I did still manage to make it to my 3D/4D ultrasound at 16 weeks which revealed that we are having a boy and a girl, so very exciting! I have always dreamed of having a daughter so I am beyond blessed to be getting one of each, the most ideal set up for having twins. Babies looked adorable but still so little at 16 weeks, here are a couple of pictures from the 16 week ultrasound:

They looked great, despite all the complications I had been going through. My last and final bleed was around 17 weeks, since then I have had no more bleeding and the hemorrhage has gotten smaller at each visit. It is still there now but down to 2cm and not causing me anymore problems. I am not on bedrest anymore but I still try to take it easy and always go in my wheel chair for long walking distances.

Around 20 weeks we confirmed again we were having a boy and a girl and we've picked names, our girl name has been picked for 8 years so that had been done but me and James finally agreed on a boy name. Our daughter will be Annalyn Grace, Ann is my late mother in law's name and Lynn is my mother name, so a combo of the two and Grace for the Lords grace of giving her to us. We decided on Ayden James for our son, I have always liked the name but James wasn't so set on the boy name but said he would accept it if we could spell it non traditionally, therefore the reason we're spelling it with a Y and of course James for daddy's name. Just to catch everyone up, I took a few belly pictures along the way, not as many as I did with Jacob because I was on bed rest but here are some.

We also had my baby shower about a week and a half ago, it was wonderful and I had so many friends show up to support me during this time, here are a few pictures from that:

We also got another 3D/4D ultrasound after our baby shower at 27 weeks, they look so precious and we could really see their features, it looks like Ayden will look just like Jacob, here are some pictures from that session!

We have also completed the nusery for the babies and gotten most of the necessities for them, I will post pictures of them soon. Most recently we just got some maternity pictures done by a wonderful friend, I plan to take maternity pictures of her as well as she is only 2 weeks behind me. Here are some pictures from that session, I love them!
