Lots of updates! Currently 7 weeks 2 days pregnant

I have been slacking big time on posting, a lot has been going on the past couple weeks. First of all, as you all know, my last post mentioned seeing two sacs, we were not certain how that would all play out until we seen the heartbeats, we had an appointment set up with my OB for July 17th but unfortunately we got a scare that made us go back to the RE when we were 6 weeks 1 day because I began to bleed the night before, it was red blood and a moderate amount and so scary. Thank goodness we seen 1 heartbeat right away at that visit the following day and about a 70% chance they seen a second heartbeat, babies were measuring 3 days small so it was hard to make out, they couldn't see where the bleed came from, it stopped by the time I got to my appt.

Over the next few days I spotted a bit, but then I was terrified again last Friday to begin bleeding red again, my RE was out of town and nobody was in that day that could do an u/s so I called my OB and they decided to see me that day. I am proud to announce we have 2 strong, beautiful heartbeats! The babies heartbeats were measuring 127 bpm and 116 bpm, they did find the source of the bleed which is called a subchorionic hemorrhage, its when the placenta and everything gets implanted into the uterus and hits something that causes a bleed, a slight separating of the placenta from uterine wall, extremely common and almost never fatal to babies, they usually resolve themselves. I was so relieved to know the bleeding wasn't coming from one of my babies.

I have had pretty much non stop spotting since that bleed but we had our first official non emergency prenatal appointment yesterday where we got to see our babies again! This time babies heartbeats were 141 bpm and 135 bpm, the bleed is still there but they assured me its small. I may have spotting/light bleeding off and on for weeks, even months, just hard to say. They said babies and sacs look great. I am terribly sick, nauseous nearly all day and don't want to eat anything, tired all the time too, its reassuring but at the same time I can hardly get off the couch which is hard when you have a 4 year old running around. Here is the u/s pictures of our beautiful twins at 7 weeks 1 day, measuring 6 weeks 6 days.

Our first u/s

We had our first u/s today at 5 weeks 5 days, very early for an u/s but the doctor wanted to make sure the pregnancy implanted and was growing in the right spot. We did not see the heartbeat yet because it was too soon but we did see two sacs! Yep, two! We are currently expecting twins, of course my doctor had to be on the cautious side and tell me not to get too excited until I see both heartbeats but that when I see them that we have a 95% chance they will both make it to the end. So we go back for u/s # 2 on July 17th, I will be 7 weeks and 2 days at that time and I really pray we see two beautiful flickering heartbeats!

Sickness is starting to really kick in for me, not so much in the morning, actually I feel the best when I first wake up, but late evening and night are the worst, I remember it being that way with Jacob too. I am tired constantly, no matter how much sleep I get, I need more. I am turned off by a lot of food I normally love and am nauseous when I haven't eaten in awhile, over all I am feeling quite blah but its completely welcomed! I am so incredibly blessed that I will take whatever comes along with it!

Second beta is in!

I forgot to post on Friday when I got my second beta in but the second was 1920! Wowsers, that more than doubled in 48 hours, twins maybe? I will be blessed either way but I'd be delighted if both my embryos made it. I just made the announcement to everyone on FB, we were going to wait until the first u/s or until we seen the heartbeat/s but my betas are rising beautifully and I am feeling pretty yucky already so I felt secure enough to announce it, I am overwhelmed by all the loving comments from friends and family. We also went for a visit to James grandma's over the weekend and shared the good news with her, she is very happy for us :).

We have our first u/s next Friday at 8:30am, it will probably be too soon to see the heartbeat/s as I'll only be 5 weeks 5 days but my RE wants to make sure the baby/ies are in the right spot and that all looks well, we'll have a second u/s a week or so later to see the heartbeat/s, we have about a 50/50 chance of being able to tell if we have 1 or 2 babies next Friday, some say they seen it as soon as 4.5 weeks, others not until 7 weeks, so we'll see, hoping we'll be able to tell.

It still hasn't quite sunk in that we're pregnant, I don't know when it will feel real, hopefully soon!
